A 42-year-old female was arrested for possession of suspected stolen groceries in Bluegumview, Duduza.
This was after sector police members followed information about a syndicate involving the delivery of school groceries intended for the school nutritional program.
Police received information about a truck that was delivering food intend for the school at a house in Bluegumview.
On arrival, the delivery truck had already driven off from the said house. Police found the groceries worth thousands in the house belonging to a female, and wasted no time in arresting her.
Police discovered that the truck and its occupants stealing the food meant for school children and selling it.
Police are also investigating further and hope to make more arrests in this matter.
The groceries included Mielie meal, milk, fish were booked as exhibit and later handed back to the school principal.
Community members alerted the police and did not turn a blind eye while the school is ripped off its services that are meant to benefit disadvantaged children.
