NORTHERN CAPE – A joint operation between Serious Organised Crime Unit and Crime Intelligence has led to the arrest of four foreign nationals for allegedly dealing in drugs.
The joint operation was conducted simultaneously in the Northern Cape and the Western Cape on Friday, 23 March 2018.
It is alleged that the syndicate aged between 27 and 36 allegedly he suspected drug distributors peddled a laundry list of assorted illegal narcotics in both provinces.
The operation was in accordance with the Hawks mandate to stem the proliferation, selling and use of illegal drugs, which is steadily gaining more popularity among the youth. It became evident that the threat had evolved as one of the targets relocated and operated from the Western Cape.
All suspects are expected to appear today at the Kuruman and Cape Town Magistrate Courts respectively on charges of dealing in drugs and drug trafficking
